One Day with the Orangutans
This tour package is designed specifically for those who are staying in Pangkalan Bun (West Kotawaringin) and surrounding areas, who wish to experience the national park in a single day.
Meeting point: Tanjung Puting Tourism Port in Kumai (pick-up at your hotel is available upon request for an additional fee).
Orangutans are great apes that can only be found in the wild in Indonesia, specifically on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo. One of the best places to see orangutans in their natural habitat is Tanjung Puting National Park. The legendary reputation of Tanjung Puting makes it a bucket-list destination for travelers visiting Indonesia.

Beyond encountering orangutans, cruising the Sekonyer River on a traditional wooden houseboat (klotok) is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Traveling by klotok is the ultimate way to appreciate the raw beauty of Tanjung Puting. The forest comes alive with birdsong, monkeys leaping through the canopy, and sometimes crocodiles basking along the banks. Furthermore, the unique black tea-colored water of the peat swamp forest offers a surreal setting as you cruise up the river.
