Orangutan Houseboating Tour — 2 Days / 1 Night
A compact overnight adventure on the river, ideal for a weekend escape into the rainforest.
Day 1 — Airport/Hotel · Kumai · Camp Leakey
To make the most of this 2-day trip, you should arrive in Pangkalan Bun or Kumai by 08.00 on the departure day. We will board the traditional wooden klotok river houseboat and set sail.
After 20 minutes from the port, we enter the Sekonyer River. Enjoy a 3-hour peaceful cruise spotting proboscis monkeys, macaques, and birds in the rainforest canopy. Sometimes you can see groups of proboscis monkeys swimming across the river.
Arriving at Camp Leakey, enjoy lunch and take a short rest. Afterward, we walk a forest path to the feeding platform to watch the 14.00 feeding program. Return to the boat for dinner and spend the night near the lake region of Camp Leakey.
Day 2 — Camp Leakey · Pondok Tanggui · Tanjung Harapan · Kumai · Airport/Hotel
Wake up early to a bright morning accompanied by the calls of birds and forest animals. Enjoy breakfast on board while taking in the serene rainforest views.
We cruise downstream to Pondok Tanggui. We must arrive before 09.00 to witness the morning feeding program, walking 20 minutes into the forest to the platform.
After Pondok Tanggui, return to the boat for lunch and continue downstream to Tanjung Harapan. We will walk 20 minutes into the forest to watch the afternoon feeding at 15.00.
Afterward, return to the boat and cruise to the nipah palm area to enjoy a special dinner surrounded by glowing fireflies. Finally, cruise back to Kumai and transfer to Pangkalan Bun airport or your hotel. Tour ends!
